For years, many support teams have been hamstrung by their traditional service desk platforms, which require complex, time-consuming coding for virtually every aspect of customization. This complexity makes it costly and difficult for support organizations to adapt—and places an increasingly substantial burden on the agility and efficiency of the business as a whole. CA Cloud Service Management is a clearly differentiated alternative to traditional service desk platforms. CA Cloud Service Management is purpose built for speed—rapidly accelerating time-to-value where other SaaS solutions fall short. Implement in days, adopt with minimal training, configure without programmers, automate end-user requests, and get automatic upgrades.

Databases have long served as the lifeline of the business. Therefore, it is no surprise that performance has always been top of mind. Whether it be a traditional row-formatted database to handle millions of transactions a day or a columnar database for advanced analytics to help uncover deep insights about the business, the goal is to service all requests as quickly as possible. This is especially true as organizations look to gain an edge on their competition by analyzing data from their transactional (OLTP) database to make more informed business decisions. The traditional model (see Figure 1) for doing this leverages two separate sets of resources, with an ETL being required to transfer the data from the OLTP database to a data warehouse for analysis. Two obvious problems exist with this implementation. First, I/O bottlenecks can quickly arise because the databases reside on disk and second, analysis is constantly being done on stale data. In-memory databases have helped address p

HCAHPS is the barometer for understanding a patient’s hospital experience. But can you predict the outcome of your patient satisfaction surveys by reading online reviews from past and present patients? And more importantly, does improving your hospital’s online reputation improve HCAHPS scores? Yes. Reputation.com’s Data Science team, led by Brad Null, Ph.D, analyzed two years of HCAHPS hospital survey data from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, across more than 4,800 hospitals. The team reviewed the data alongside online reviews, ratings and rankings for those same hospitals, and made some significant discoveries: • Online reviews provide early warning of issues that may impact patient experience, giving hospitals the opportunity to identify and address those issues before patient satisfaction scores suffer. • By continually monitoring, managing, requesting and responding to patient reviews, a healthcare organization can address negative feedback that impacts HCAHPS resu

The next generation user expects more do-it-yourself IT offerings. Whether it’s self-service portals with interfaces to rival Amazon or personal mobile devices with 24/7 business access, users are requesting more self-service functions and capability. To the modern user of technology “consumer-grade” has become a standard, and it’s ITs’ job to not only appease but genuinely satisfy contemporary users. Application delivery services are critical for successful applications. Whether such services add scalability, reliability, or security, most applications rely on one or more. Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), therefore, occupy a critical place in most application, cloud, and data center designs. But what does "performance" actually mean? In general, ADC vendors publish four main types of metrics to demonstrate performance: Requests per second (RPS) Connections per second (CPS) Transactions per second (TPS) Throughput (often measured in gigabits per second, Gbps) Download now to learn more!

This paper conveys how the pressure to increase customer satisfaction metrics with less funding will increase as companies look for new ways to differentiate their services and reduce customer churn. To get ahead, customer support organizations must maintain a focus on using the right measures of success. They need to empower agents to support more customers better, providing them with multiple, integrated communications channels, and they need to be dedicated to delivering the best customer experience regardless of the support request.

Each year, a total of 180,000 IT service tickets are created and processed. These include requests and incidents of all kinds, such as the provision of the flight information displays, an employee request for a laptop, through to IT equipment for an airline customer. The Airport’s IT team therefore decided to undertake a complex and ambitious project, entitled “ITSM 2020,” which aimed to establish a uniform and future-oriented IT service management system that would effectively and efficiently serve all areas of Munich Airport. Munich Airport evaluated various bidders in a two stage process conducted on the basis of the European Union tendering procedures. Cherwell was able to hold its own against other ITSM solutions both technically and in terms of price.

Self-service is an advanced element of private cloud environments that improves management efficiency and business agility, as well as lowering operating expenses. A self-service environment streamlines the interaction between users and the IT department. It empowers internal consumers of IT services to request and receive appropriately configured resources on demand with minimal IT intervention. NetApp® OnCommand® Workflow Automation, the NetApp Management SDK with open APIs, and key ecosystem partnerships enable enterprises to easily integrate their orchestration solutions and custom management tools with the NetApp storage service catalog for automated storage provisioning and protection. Customers can thereby create a self-service, web-based portal that efficiently delivers IT as a service to virtualization administrators, application administrators, and users, while enabling IT staff to focus on higher value activities.

Web Services are emerging as the preeminent method for program-to-program communication across corporate networks as well as the Internet. Securing web Services has been a challenge until recently, as typical Web authentication and authorization techniques employed browser-to-server architectures (not program-to-program). This resulted in user identity ending at the Web Application Server, forcing the Web Services Provider to trust blindly that the Web Services Requester had established identity and trust with the end user.
